As early as possible what you need to do is to go to an immigration office and find for availabilities that might help you. This has to be carried out not crossing 28 days from the date of visa expiry.
You need to carry your passport and other related documents, residential proof with you. If you are trying to return, you should submit proof for ex: flight booking done.
Officers at Community Status Resolution Service (CSRS) will issue an extension visa which is a temporary visa that is valid, until the work related to your immigration is finalized.
If proper action is not taken by you as per the above mentioned guidelines, you will be held in the immigration detention. So it is prominent for you to do as per the suggestions at the right time.
