L1 visa would be a better one for below reasons-
1. You can get a L1 visa within 1–2 month. So you are clear about timelines and can make some plan around it. For H1B you need to wait till April and there is “No guarantee” that your name will be among the selected one in the lottery. Even if you are selected, you need to wait for another 6 months for stamping to be done. Overall lot of ifs and buts for H1B.
2. In L1 visa spouse can work without any hassles. She is free to work anywhere independently. Gold for working wife and also good money.
3. If an L-1A or L-1B visa holder wants to work for a different employer, he or she can switch to the H-1B visa (as long as he or she meets the H-1B requirements). However, the time spent on the L visa is counted against the H-1B visa time.
