We can broadly classify the USA visa types in to Immigrant and Nonimmigrant Visas. Any foreign citizen who wish enter the United States must initiate to first obtain a visa, it could be a non immigrant visa for temporary stay or immigrant visa for permanent residence.
Immigrant Visas
If a person wants to immigrate to the United States must possess a petition approved by USICS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) before applying for an immigrant visa. The petition is to be filed by a qualified relative or a potential employer at a USCIS office in the United States. Though there are very few exceptions, all individuals must pay a $165.00 to USCIS towards Immigrant Fee before traveling.
Nonimmigrant Visas
A nonimmigrant visa is issued to tourists, business people, students, or specialty workers who wish to stay for a particular period of time in the United States to complete specific purpose. Nonimmigrant visa applicants must demonstrate to the consular officer that they have strong ties to the home country and must prove that they intend to leave the US after temporary stay. Work Visas
H1B, H1B1, H2A, and H2BL1 are few of the Visa types falls under the category. Most of the temporary worker categories require that your employer has to file a petition, which must be approved by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in the United States before you can apply for a work visa.
